About Our Practice
I have heard that Dr. Levy is not taking new patients anymore. Is this true?
No, Dr. Levy is always accepting new patients to her practice. If a new patient is calling to schedule a yearly physical they may be offered our Nurse Practitioner, Susan Ferreira, to get in earlier than Dr. Levy’s schedule will allow. But, if the patient does not wish to see our Nurse Practitioner, we will always offer them Dr. Levy’s next available appointment time.
How long do I have to wait for an appointment?
Our office will get you in for an appointment at the earliest possible time. If you have an urgent problem, we will do our best to give you an appointment on the same day or next, depending on availability. Generally, our clinical staff will talk with the patient if we do not have time available, to try and either help the patient over the phone or assess the urgency of the problem.
What happens if I see the Nurse Practitioner, but want to become Dr. Levy’s patient?
All patients seen in our practice are Dr. Levy’s patients. There may be times when Dr. Levy is out of the office or unavailable and our Nurse Practitioner will see you for the current problem. Once you are established in our office you can see either practitioner you choose.
Why do you require a credit card to hold a new patient appointment?
We established this policy years ago to eliminate or at least decrease the amount of “no show” appointments. As a new patient, we reserve quite a bit of time for you to have with Dr. Levy, and if the patient does not show, Dr. Levy is left with a huge gap in her schedule. The reason for a credit card is that, as a new patient, we do not yet have all the information to bill you directly. Just like when you make a hotel or airline reservation, a credit card is required to hold the reservation and if you do not show up, your card will be charged. Once you come in to the office, we do not keep this information on file any longer.
