The Art of Healing

Our practice reflects my philosophy that healing is an art – it must be informed by the latest and best scientific and medical research, but how we feel as women is dependent on many things besides the absence of disease. I believe in helping women help themselves, and in providing an environment for healing that encourages an open, honest and, safe exchange of information.

Let’s face it: seeing the gynecologist is no one’s favorite activity. But if I can create a beautiful, peaceful, and empowering place for my patients to get health care, I think we become a better team together. Healing is about feeling whole in mind, body, and spirit. That means that it is important for us, as women, to be surrounded with images that help us feel good about ourselves – not airbrushed images of “perfect” bodies. Most of us see all the rolls, folds, wrinkles, stretch marks, pimples, and imperfections in ourselves when we look in the mirror. We often compare what we see to those perfect images we’re surrounded with constantly in the media, which can make us feel badly about our bodies and ourselves. This can be destructive to our self-esteem and to our spirits. The art, music, color, and features in our office have all been purposefully designed to demonstrate the beauty and vitality of women of every race, age, size, and shape. I want women to feel empowered and beautiful when they visit our office, and I want them to understand and feel the confidence and empowerment that comes from an integrated sense of self.

The art of healing requires that we tap into our intuitive instincts, and understand and listen to the messages from our bodies, then process those messages and integrate them into a holistic approach to healing. That means looking at lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, exercise, meditation, and mindfulness as powerful tools for healing in addition to traditional methods like diagnostic x-rays and tests, medications, and surgical treatments. The word "doctor," in Greek, means "teacher." It is my job to educate women about their bodies and to enable each woman who comes to this practice to be an informed, intelligent, and active participant in her own care.

We strive to provide the very best in women’s health care. It is my hope and expectation that the partnership in healing between my patients and me – created and supported in a beautiful, peaceful environment - will enable women to leave our office feeling excited and empowered by our unique approach to the art of healing.

"Efficiency, courtesy, excellent explaining and instructions, pleasant, took the time to not make one feel rushed! I really felt like I was in very good, knowledgeable, caring hands where you could feel trust and hope for getting help and relief."
