Dr. Barbara Levy has more than 20 years of experience as a women's health care specialist. She opened her private gynecologic practice in Federal Way, WA, in 1993 after working for several years in Seattle. She is devoted to the art of healing, and provides sensitive, respectful health care to women of all ages. Dr. Levy stays up-to-date on the latest developments in her field, and is dedicated to working with her patients on preventive care and wellness.
Dr. Levy has discussed topics such as hysterectomy and other women’s health issues on noted television programs such as Oprah, the Discovery Health Channel, and local television shows. She has written more than 50 publications in her areas of specialty, and has contributed to many press articles about women’s health.
Dr. Levy also acts as the Associate Editor for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and serves on the editorial board of OBG Management.
After receiving her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Levy completed her internship and residency at Oregon Health and Sciences Center in Portland, OR. She is certified through both the American Board of OB/GYN and the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
In 1995, Dr. Levy was the first female president of American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Levy currently serves as the Medical Director for the Franciscan Health System’s Women’s Health and Breast Center in Federal Way and as the Associate Medical Director for Women’s Health at Franciscan Health System.
